Marcelo Castro Alves
Founder, Focus Investment Advisors
Marcelo Alves founded Focus in 2011. Prior to that, Marcelo was an independent advisor for three years with Genesis Investment Advisors group in Miami. Before joining Genesis, Marcelo was with Citi and Safra Private Bank during ve years in Miami and since 1995 in Switzerland in the Global Private Client Division, primarily managing investment portfolios for high net worth individuals, Private foundations, and small to midsize corporations.
Marcelo graduated in Sao Paulo, Brazil with a degree in International Economics Science. After that, he obtained in 1998 the certified European Financial Analyst CEFA professional designation and the Federal Diploma for Financial Analyst and Portfolio manager, Swiss Federal License issued by AZEK Swiss Association of Financial Analysts and Portfolio Managers, Zurich, Switzerland
This designation of the Certified Financial Analyst promotes the highest standard of personal and professional conduct in the investment management consulting profession. Marcelo is fluent in Portuguese, German, English, Spanish, and French in addition to good Italian knowledge.
Marcelo spent several years as a competitive long-distance runner, racing several marathons as a top-level amateur on the international circuit of New York, Berlin, San Francisco, and Miami.
Marcelo Castro Alves is a member of the Eleventh Circuit Grievance Committee “J” of the Florida Bar – Miami Court.
